Ownership: Operated by Eye Media Group LLC, a for-profit Virginia company incorporated on 3 February 2022 and owned by its founders, the exiled journalists Lotfullah Najafizada, previously head of TOLOnews, and Samiullah Mahdi. No board of directors or trustees is published.

Funding: About two million dollars in private seed capital, a 460,000 dollar United States Institute of Peace cooperative agreement running to July 2025, reported National Endowment for Democracy support of undisclosed size, and public donations. A 2022 public promise of funding transparency has not been kept.
