TOLD sets no advertising or tracking cookies. This page lists what the site stores on your device. You can change your choice at any time.

Neither leaves your device, and neither says anything about who you are.
- told_cookie_consent: your cookie choice, so we don’t ask again.
- told-theme: your dark or light mode setting.
Some features cache public data locally (the weather strip, for example), so the site doesn't refetch it on every visit. Clearing your browser's site data removes all of it.
What runs, and how to stop it.
Two services: Vercel Analytics and Umami. Both count page views and clicks anonymously, for example which story was opened or which newsroom a reader went on to. What you type in a search box is not stored. No tracking cookies, no profiles, no ads.
They run by default. Neither one sets a cookie, stores anything in your browser, or can tell who you are. We count so we know whether anyone is reading, and which parts of TOLD they use.
If you decline, both stop and nothing is counted. You can change your mind at any time, further down this page.
Some content loads from other services.
Source logos come from Google's favicon service, weather data from Open-Meteo, and map tiles from OpenStreetMap when you open the weather map. As with any web request, those servers see your IP address. TOLD sends them nothing else.
