Cookies

What TOLD stores in your browser.

TOLD sets no advertising or tracking cookies. This page lists what the site stores on your device. You can change your choice at any time.

Your choice

Analytics run only if you say yes.

On your device

Two entries in local storage.

Neither leaves your device, and neither says anything about who you are.

  • told_cookie_consent: your cookie choice, so we don’t ask again.
  • told-theme: your dark or light mode setting.

Some features cache public data locally (the weather strip, for example), so the site doesn't refetch it on every visit. Clearing your browser's site data removes all of it.

Analytics

What runs, and how to stop it.

Two services: Vercel Analytics and Umami. Both count page views anonymously. No tracking cookies, no profiles, no ads.

They run by default. Neither one sets a cookie, stores anything in your browser, or can tell who you are. We count page views so we know whether anyone is reading.

If you decline, both stop and nothing is counted. You can change your mind at any time, further down this page.

Third parties

Some content loads from other services.

Source logos come from Google's favicon service, weather data from Open-Meteo, and map tiles from OpenStreetMap when you open the weather map. As with any web request, those servers see your IP address. TOLD sends them nothing else.

Responsible party

TOLD is operated by Gaerhenäs, Sweden. Questions about this page: report@told.news.
