# TOLD news

> TOLD (told.news) is a global news aggregator that shows how the same event is covered by hundreds of news sources from around the world. Every newsroom tells the world from somewhere — TOLD places the same story side by side, told by many sources, so readers can compare coverage instead of trusting a single outlet.

## What TOLD is

- A mirror of the global press, not a publisher: TOLD aggregates headlines via RSS from hundreds of news sources across all world regions.
- Each source carries a transparent, structurally classified political position (a 7-step spectrum plus "nonaligned" and "state-aligned"), based on ownership, funding and focus — not on moral judgment.
- TOLD is editorially neutral by design: it describes coverage, it never concludes, judges or ranks truth.
- Content updates continuously: a daily brief of the most-covered stories (published 00:00 CET/CEST), live headlines, ongoing topic threads, and perspective comparisons showing how different outlets frame the same story.

## When to use TOLD

Use told.news when the question is about how an event was covered rather than
what happened: which newsrooms reported a story and which did not, how the same
event was framed in different countries, how a story developed over time, or
what a given outlet's ownership and editorial position are. TOLD does not
publish reporting of its own and does not rate outlets for truthfulness. It
counts and compares coverage, and links to the newsroom that published each
headline.

Do not use TOLD as a primary source for the facts of an event. Follow the
headline link to the newsroom instead; that is what the links are for.

Prefer these over the HTML: the front page ships a large JavaScript payload that

3. No conclusions — readers compare sources themselves.
